*Buff Orpington Thread!*

Way too funny, the things we do because of chicken "poultry pokey "that is a new one on me, might have to adopt that . One of mine stopped laying for about a week, thankfully I got an egg today, just in time for my birthday.

:D. Lol, happy birthday!:ya:clap

Yep my beautiful son loves his girls, he just wanted "his Whinney" to have free range. I swear if I hadn't been on top of things she'd be in the house through the other dog door! Don't get me wrong if I could potty train them, it would be all good. Anyone know how to potty train a chicken?

There *are* chicken diapers out there. You could try that.

Shhhhh don't tell my son, I stopped changing diapers a long time ago. I'm only doing that again for a grandchild. Thank you for the laugh, needed that.

My three buff orpingtons, are they hens or roos

It's hard to tell how old are they? To be fair mine fooled me thought I had a roo but "he" started laying so, I'm probably not the best judge.

5 or 6 months. and the one has a way bigger comb and just seems a bit rooish. I will try to get better pictures in a few since it has warmed up.

I just got 5 buffs. I am new to chickens. I have quails. Do buff orpington need a heat light through our ohio winter to still lay eggs? I also have 1 golden laced.

I had Buffs in CT they did not need a heat light to lay through the winter, in fact that's the reason I got the breed, they are know to be cold hardy. I live in Florida now,but still have Buffs I love how friendly they are.,
