Not necessarily a late bloomer.. I have 4 buffs and I think  3 are roo's but only one has started to try to find his voice.. I wouldn't worry,  roo's will find their crow soon enough

Is this chick a Buff Orpington? It's supposed to be a pullet and about 4.5 weeks in this picture.

Yes those defiantly look like BO's to me I have 6 and they look exactly like that

Yeah my first clue when I have a boy is how fast and how read his comb and wattles turn compared to the rest of the flock... I am far from an expert but I would guess this is not a female.

Do you think it's a pullet? It was in the pullet cage at TSC. It's huge, almost as big as my 7 week old EE"s.

Here is Miss Lucy, at 8.5 weeks old. Enjoying the chicken yard thoroughly. She is still friendly as ever, quietly waiting for her turn to be held. And she is a stealth worm catcher.

She is growing soooo fast!! She is turning into a lovely girl

My Lucy loves to hunt worms, most of my run is covered by a roof, but I have a small section "exposed to the elements", I turn it with a pitchfork about every week or so, she rides the pitchfork so she can get "first look" at what is being turned over (worms).
