*Buff Orpington Thread!*

Quick update: my girl seems to be up and running today. I couldn't find traces of egg yolk anywhere or anything but I did notice a mega poop so I think she expelled what was bothering her :lau.
I am going to run to the shops to buy those vitamins and calciums. Out of my 4 hens she has been the ony one having all the issues so it might come in handy :(

Edit: yep we have a double brooder I believe. Just now caught her in the nest again puffed up and wings spread. Back to chicken jail

@henmania I'm glad to hear she is doing well! I do keep Poultry Nutri-Drench and some TUMS on hand (surprisingly I don't have a HUGE chicken ER kit:p). I have one girl that is having a bit of troubles every now and again, so it's nice to have something on hand.
I hope your girl continues to do well.

Thanks :). Seems like I'm gradually building a chicken survival kit too. Thankfully, I haven't had problems with any of the other hens, just her.
Only fight I have now is that they seems to keep pulling the hay out of the box . I think my stubbornness rubs off on these chickens.

MAY, 2017~We have 2 more buff orpington chicks, Clementine and Olivia, to add to our apprx. 15 month old flock of 4 BO hens, Prissy, Hannah, Bella, and Maisie. So far the new chicks---now about 2 months old, are in a cage in the run in daytime and in the cage in the coop at night---the 'look but don't touch' method. We are waiting for when we can integrate them fully into the flock. Any advice is welcome!
We re-painted and updated our coop and run...

We built the window box with leftover scraps of cedar boards we had. We're siding our house in natural cedar shingles and painting the window trim the new dark black/brown color, so I just finished painting the coop/run exterior.

We laid natural flat stone around the whole coop/run area---no more mud---and a path to it. We just put down grass seed. LOL, the hens are on lockdown until the seed grows since they were eating it! I really miss them wandering all over the yard and begging for treats at the kitchen door! It should only be a couple more weeks before they can be free again!

IMG_1740.JPG Cinnamon - the one in question

IMG_1747.JPG Tulip and Cookie - for reference

Our 11 1/2 week old BO, has me confused. I noticed a little redder comb and the beginnings of wattles. The other 2 buffs have more flesh colored comb and no wattle. All are as sweet as can be and have the beginning of red faces. Could this mean cockerel for our Cinnamon girl?
