Oh yes! she pecks me! I wamted to check for lice etc on her and people said it would be best to do it when shes on her nest so i did and she went mental at me trying to attack me!

Yesterday I went out on the lawn to enjoy the evening. I saw the girls working in the garden and called them over, just as my daughter came outside to take a couple of Father's Day photos of me enjoying the sunset.

It was a great day.

Each morning I let the girls out of the run. They forage the yard and scratch in the garden. Then as part of the girls' morning routine they go onto the back patio and prene their feathers and look at their reflections in the basement windows. Then they sit for a bit on some wood that is left over from the coop & run construction.

If these are all the same age... that one on the end ain't no girl. Its comb is much larger. Have you seen any signs he is a he?

The one on the end is named Pecker, its a well deserved name....and yes you are very correct; he's a he.

Dang, if he isn't one of my favorites. We are not allowed to keep cockerels, so he will have to go soon. He started trying to crow about 4 days ago. Pecker's days are numbered.

A fellow with show bantams took an unusual approach to keeping roosters in Tulsa years ago. Seems his new neighbor turned him in. All roosters were removed and taken to a farm outside of the city limits.

A few days later the neighbor heard the roosters again. He called animal control (AC) The AC came out and search all buildings. No roosters. Every day for a few weeks this neighbor called about hearing roosters crow. Each day AC came out and checked. Finally the animal control officer apologized and said they would not be back. It was just a rotten neighbor with apparent mental health issues.

A few days later the fellow took his sound system down from his bantam building, disconnected his tape recorder, and brought his roosters home.

He had been playing a recording of his roosters every morning!

Can anyone give me a guess as to Buffy's gender? I've posted 2 photos in case feathering helps determine. She's 1 month day and I'm started to get nervous! I nursed her back from a broken leg when she was chick so she's very special. Thank you!

Buffy will need years of therapy. Have you dressed him up in girl's clothing yet? Poor little fellow.

He may never recover from his gender identity issues!
