The Orpingtons are very friendly compared the small amount of experience
I have had with chickens from other family members.

I think a lot may have to do with getting them as 2 day o;ds and absolutely
spoiling them with attention. I tried to make sure I handed every one of them. Talking and singing and doing my best bok bok bok...

We also work out of our home so every meal break and coffee break one
or both of use have been out their.

Watching them peck and scratch makes you realize how simple life "should"
be.

I have attached more pictures at various stages and yes, there is definitely and akward, gangly teenager stage where they really look weird. Now
they are starting to fill out and look beautiful.

In the one picture she looks dead, but it's just dust bathing. She actually
digs deep enough below the surface and that the other chickens walk over the top of her.

I love the one with them around the feeder and their reflection.

How about the one behind the screen. Looks like a Klingon Chicken.

Yes, I have heard that getting the Orpingtons is difficult. I don't know why.
I ordered mune around March the 1st and goth them April 1st.

Gorgeous! Two of my many chicks are Buff Orps *I think* -- they're at the front of the pile in this pic, on the left and the right. At just under 4 weeks they're at that awkward teenager stage. The buffs seem to be the last ones to feather out, and the smallest in size. Can't wait to see what they look like in a few more weeks!
