Hi all! Our 3 BO's are about 4 months old now and we're still not sure what the rooster/hen mix is. I'm almost positive Little Bit is a hen. But Cheepers and Rooster Cogburn are still keeping us guessing. The feathers around their heads seem a little more iridescent than Little Bit's. Rooster Cogburn is definitely more stand-off-ish and doesn't really want to be around people. The main thing I'm seeing is that Cheepers and R.C. really bow up to each other and have out and out squabbles...neck feathers flared out and all. I'm getting rid of any roosters so I guess time will tell, but I'd love to know your thoughts on these behaviours. My goal is still to have three chickens, so once I figure out if I'm getting rid of 1 or 2 roosters, then I have to learn how to introduce 1 or 2 new chicks!
I can definitely see the difference between mine and Hawgfan's 16 week roo!
