Funny about the one lonely chick. Three days after I picked up the silkies from you my ameraucana hatch started. They turned out to be the worst broodies ever. After they smushed a couple of hatchlings I started stealing the babies as they hatched and adding them to the indoor brooder. So my one little lone baby got two silkie buddies and then another four ameraucana babies. HA! All 7 of them are out in the grow out pen and they are all doing great. You'd never know that one had a funky beginning.
Let's wait for cooler weather and then think about more babies. For some reason I had it in my head that you were thinking of doing lavender too. I knew you had the gorgeous whites and splashes. I guess I'm just confused. That's not hard these days!
Yeah, Jack has nice birds. The vaulted skulls kind of ook me out. I'm really pleased that these guys are getting the head shape from feathers and not skull bones. Seems like it will mean fewer health issues and nicer looking birds. It will be interesting to see how these guys feather out. Even at this stage a couple of them are poofing up nicely.
