Hi finally counted all the buff chicks and have 7 in the barn brooder and moved the last 9 out there today...they are so cute...I am letting one girl sit on 3 of her own eggs she likes the stainless steel dog dish so i let her have it.....I have a photo of one of the ones who isnt camera shy will try and post it...i think i can get it on my BYC page maybe someone can tell me how to put it on here...thanks...and PS i like the little buff boy i would try breeding him he has all his toes and a nice tophat and he is a nice color..

Hello Pam I'm not really the one to tell you if this is a good buff or not . I can share how I personally feel . I noticed alot of white in his cushion and wings , I'm not sure if that is as hard or easier to get rid of in them than black (smut ) . Feathering on feet looked great -- A few to many toes on the first foot -- but I have been told more is better then less . Skin nice and black . --- Type isn't as tight as I personally like but again thats my preference . If it was me I'd use him . I would find him a little darker hen with stronger type and see what happens . I deffenitly would try - what do you loose ( nothing ) . Just my thoughts ~~~~ Tammy

Thank you! That is what I was thinking, to breed him with girls that could possible make up for any of his faults. I appreciate your opinion! Thanks!

No, he is the only one, so I would be purchasing more.

Not positive yet. I may order some more eggs from Steve and stick them under a broody. But, I'd like to get my hands on a good quality pullet.

celtic hill -- if you go to the silkie thread SunnyDayz posted a pic of a chick that has really nice toe spaceing . I can tell you from listening to judges that it really only matters in space when they have to decide between birds . Generally if it has 5 toes it's good . ~~ Tammy
