Buff Silkie Thread!

I have 2 buffs and 2 whites. they will be 2 weeks old on 4/17. and to me it looks like they are NOT GROWING, haha. Does anyone have pics of 2 week old silkies so i know what size they should be???

Hello everyone. I have two buff Silkie roosters I have to decide between. I appreciate all the help I can get

This is buff Rooster number 1. He is a bit older than the second rooster and his comb and wattles are much darker. He has more dark in his tail than the other roo.








This is BUFF ROOSTER Number 2. He is a bit younger than the other roo, the dark parts on his tail seem to be lighter, almost a blue colour.






So the question is which would YOU use for breeding.

I would use Roo #2. He has better type, wings, color & foot feathering. JMO.

Thank you that is what I was thinking... I know his comb isn't great and the colouring isn't either, but I think it is something I can work with.

Can the combs turn darker as they age or if they are reddish as youngsters stay reddish or turn lighter (red)? I have some buffs 2 months old that are developing red combs instead of being black(ish). Will they ever get darker? I suspect not, but wanted to ask the Silkie veterans.

If my Silkie (little over 2 mos) has 1/2 long wattles, does that mean it's for sure a rooster? Or is it possible it's a hen? I could take a picture as well...

My little ones have grown so much 2 mo. 2 weeks today. Cant wait for them to get full grown !!
