Buff Silkie Thread!

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering who would be a better rooster to breed to these hens.
Here are the hens:

Anna

Gloria

And here are the roosters:

Arthur

Egbert

I would split them up into two pairs and hatch out a bunch of chicks from each. Then switch the males and hatch out more chicks. This way you can see which pairings produce the best chicks.

The 2nd hen looks like she may have split wing, or she could just be holding it that way when the pic was snapped. Anna has the best coloring/type.

Not a fan of either of the 2 males, they could have better coloring. Don't care for the way Arthurs wings look. Egbert has a nice dark comb.

I bred a male a couple years back that had a very light comb and was very light buff, and got several real nice buff males from him, nice dark combs, darker even buff coloring.
Just try both roosters on the girls, mark the chicks, and see which birds produce the best offspring.

thanks you some post she was getting for these birds where very discridgeing because no ever explains them self

Arthur seems to have better type and longer feathers. Sundown's answer is good.
