Just got done culling the majority of my buffs. I'm only keeping 5 birds simply because the rest have too much smutt. I know some of you say to keep the smutty ones, but I just can't do it. If out of 15 chickens I'm only able to keep 5 then the keeping smutt thing aint working. I would like to eventually show some buffs and these smutty birds will be laughed out of the show. So back to square 1 lesson learned. I think I'll skip out on buying hatching eggs next time and just pay the extra to have a nice bird shipped to me.![]()

isnt smutt a dq in showing buffs
i did notice with my buffs the have right color but there skin isnt as dark
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
