My biologist friend didn't recognize it, and without a phyiscal sample he wasn't able to figure it out. He just got back to me today.

I asked the mealworm supplier and they thought it was a stage of the pupae...uck that it can live inside the girls...

in regards to a wormer with no egg withdrawal period...flubenvet is the way to go :-)))) no sure if its available in the states though....

I checked it out, and it is not available in the USA. I would sure like to know why not.

I use Eprinex wormer for my flock. There is 0 withdrawal time and it gets both inside and outside parasites. I use 5 drops on the back of the neck at the skin.

OK, that is just yucky. No mealworms for my girls. shudder -- nasty looking thing.

How is the flock doing otherwise?
