This is sickening and the first time I've seen this. I boiled an egg for tuna salad and as I was dicing it up, I notice something brown. It was a small beetle looking bug that was in the egg white? How in the world did this happen? I wormed them back in the winter and have seen worms in their poo before, but a bug? HELP...I don't like bugs in my tuna.

I have no idea how it happened, but now I know why I have a natural aversion to eggs in tuna salad!

YIKES!

no pic. It was brown, a little smaller than a pea. What I could see, it looked like a brownish/red beetle type bug. I appreciate ya'lls quick response. Maybe someone will know. I know which hen layed this egg so I'll watch when I crack or boil hers.

Egg in tuna salad?

Are you absolutely sure it was a bug? I get 'meat spots' in my eggs once in awhile. They're roundish, brownish red. Easily picked out of the egg.

it was definetly a bug with little legs. Shape was oval. Is everyone sick now? We'll all start looking at our boiled eggs closer because I'll never know where it is hiding. Of course it was dead (boiled), but very sickening

Ewww. That is gross!! (the bug... not the egg in tuna salad!)

I now candle all my eggs. I sure hope I never spot a bug in there (but at least I'd see it before I boiled it.)

I hope you get it figured out!
