Bug Repellant vs Fowl Pox

Bird's respiratory systems are very fragile. I would not use any kind of insect repellent on the bird. What I would do is pay attention to the environment: dry up any standing water. use Mosquito Dunks in any water that can't be drained. Keep your grass mowed.

Follow up questions: Have you ever had fowl pox infect any of your birds? What about the incidence of fowl pox in the flocks of other folks on your state thread? How common is it in your area? If you even do find something that safely keeps the mosquitoes away from your birds, will you be applying it as needed every single day during mosquito season? If the answer to the last question is no, then IMO any effort in this regard is futile.

I've had fowl pox last year (very wet Summer), it cleared up nicely, just left it alone & I sprinkle/toss granules around their enclosure (they do not free range) & into the neighbors brush. This year it's been pretty dry so not so much of an issue but here in Hawaii it's "tropical" & when we get our "40days & 40 nights" of rain, it's horrible.

I do preventative, got Citronella plants around their Enclosure & sprinkle granules, I'm aware how sensitive birds respiratory systems are. I've seen (not here) how bad the Pox can be, I was just wondering if there was anything out there....
