Bugs on scratch

I looked into my scratch bag after not using it for a while and saw a TON of these little black bug. Are these bugs safe to feed the chickens? I'm just making sure they won't go into there feathers and are safe for them to eat?

Keep in mind, while the weevils are there, they are eating that scratch & pooping in it, thereby degrading its overall nutritional value. And you risk the weevils spreading. I guess my chickens are weird, they never showed any interest in them.

I have only ever had them once. I dumped it.

That was more to do with my own yuck factor though. It will not hurt them.

Some food grade DE mixed into the scratch should help get rid of the weevils .
