Alright so now that the house/pen is done I am starting the next project which is the duck pond. I am thinking about doing something like the image i uploaded. My idea is to do it in a trex so it doesnt rot away and to build it off the ground like this to give me the ability to put a ball drain on the bottom with a big pvc to drain it out to keep it somewhat clean. Does anyone have any other suggestions to keeping it clean ?? has anyone used a filter of any kind? I feel that if i keep it off the ground and on a deck it will help with the mud being brought into it but I am not really sure. The pond will be build "OUTSIDE" of the pen to keep the pen as dry as possible. Any input to minimize maintenance would be greatly appreciated. I would love to run a filtration system if its even possible having a big mosquito tub tho isnt appealing.

thanks in advance

That is nice, are you going to fence it some how around the top to keep them from jumping off the sides? and only be able to use the ramp?

Yeah i dont know yet this is just something i found online i wanted to try to make. I guess i would fence off the 3 sides and just turn one whole side into a ramp unlike whoever made the one in the pic

Not sure if you would want it that steep either. Reason I asked about fencing it. I had a stock tank set up on a pallet nit that high off the ground and had a wide ramp going up to it. My Muscovy drake jumped off the side and hurt his leg he limped around for a couple weeks. Their not the brightest when it comes to safety. lol

im thinking an above view of it would be something like this, where the three sides have a fence of some sort to just keep them from thinking they can fly off the edge.

Looks nice can also landscape around three sides gated with shrubs and perennials. Are you adding a fountain in pond? :) I saw a pond kit at Home Depot with fountain for about $100.00
