Wow .. The framers were out yesterday and look what they did! ..

This is the same view I've been taking .. over the garage. You can see the garage is framed, and the sub-floor is on the first floor house. The decking is also on the front porch, but for some reason, I failed to take a pic of it ..

Then I moved around to the left and took one from the "front" of the garage (side of the house).. and then the side of the house with more supplies.

... and one of DH pouring a beer in front of the 'fireplace' .. I'm sure there will be many more of this same pose in different stages of the game..

Supposed to have RAIN today and tomorrow ..

Hopefully they will get more done today before the rain hits .. But then we're supposed to have another week of nice weather, so things should move quickly!

We are soooo excited..

I officially have to go out there every single day now, because I set up the chicken area for my babies. They are locked in a big wooden snake proof rabbit hutch .. inside a run area. When I go out, I'll let them out for a while and then put them up. They are 4 weeks old .. and the weather is mild .. so all is well!

See ya!

My DH and I are having our dream house built on 250 wooded acres in middle TN, the land I grew up on. We are having a contractor build it, but it's still exciting for us. Our dream got downsized due to the economy, but it's still fun. Our house plan is VERY similar to Texasgal's, but without the second story & grarage and with a basement underneath.
One of the first things we did when the porch was finished was to go out and buy two rocking chairs. The house isn't done yet, but we still go over every afternoon and sit on those rockers on the porch, looking out at the woods and watching for the deer and wild turkey to come by. Chickenannie, you wrote some wise words there!

Congrats Texas, it is exciting.
My Dh and I started building our house in Oct. 06, we finished in Feb. 07.
I have pictures of everything, exept the actual finished house now ... LOL
Oh well, I figured we will have plenty over the years. Maybe I will deep clean each room and take a pic while they are nice and clean

Thanks chixie and OFH .. I don't think we would survive building ourself .. DH is driving me crazy .. and we have a contractor doing all the work .. LOL..

I have a friend whos house burned down and they had to rebuild from scratch... they are doing it by themselves.. I think it is coming along faster than if they had a contractor... they are already painting and it has only been a few months
