Kitchen = The stove will go in the "island" .. so I can look outside the back door while I"m cooking .. fridge will go on the far left

I love it too. It looks warm and cozy. Also, about the counter tops. I would choose laminate. I stayed with a friend that had granite counters. She doesn't cook. I do. Yuk. I use glass dishes and bowls all the time. I had to put something on the counter to stop the noise. It was like nails on a blackboard. I couldn't stand the vibrations through the bowls either. The thought still makes me shudder.

Your kitchen countertops look a lot like mine, and I love them. I went from a kitchen with solid white countertops (which I had to bleach about every other day)to that one, and they're great. Love your cabinets, too, and I'm perpetually jealous of your knotty pine doors.

Beautiful laminate! Did you by chance save the sink cut-outs? I once had the pleasure of re-doing an outdated kitchen and went with laminate countertops. We saved the sink cut-outs, painted the edges, put little rubber feet on them, and voila! I had matching cutting boards which saved my beautiful laminate.

I think your home is just wonderful; and more than likely DH will chill when he sees it all pulled together. Try finding a habitat for humanity store, because as some members on here will testify too, you can get fantastic deals on stuff . . .so if there is something your DH just can't live with when its all said and done, you might be able to find a really economical replacement. I love the Pine wood, it is so clean and sunny looking . . .you are truly blessed!!!! Love the pictures, this was really a work in progress that we all got to share!!!
