Building a new coop

When you say hide/ get away do you mean things for them to be able to get under or behind
Yup.
Places for the new birds to hide 'out of line of sight'(but not a dead end trap) and/or up and away from any bully birds. Roosts, pallets or boards leaned up against walls or up on concrete blocks, old chairs tables, branches, logs, stumps out in the run can really help. Lots of diversion and places to 'hide' instead of bare wide open run.

I have lots of pallets out in the run, some on blocks, some leaning against the fence, some on logs.
I should I put anything in the coop when I take the wall down?

Ehhh...might be a good idea.
Especially if the chicks cannot eat and drink in peace.
Would be good to be around to observe, especially at roosting time.

Well, today I took down the wall inside the coop, and made the pop doors large enough for both the hens and chicks to go in and out of.
So as for now they are one flock, the chicks know to keep their distance .
Tonight I will be out there when they go to roost and make sure all goes well. I'm kinda sure they all will go to the roost they been using ,
Tonight is the test

No problem at roost time, the chicks went to their area. And the hens went to theirs:wee
Now I will make sure I'm out there in the morning to open pop doors ,
That way the chicks will have a place to run to if needed to

Great!!
If chicks roost is 24" up off floor, and away from chicks feed/water, they'll probably be fine.

Everything went as expected this morning,
Knock on wood
Which means it went well?
No bullying from feed or water?
I assume you still have feed and water in the chicks area as well as in the main area?
