Building a run?

I have seen people with fenced in runs and people with out. We have a 7 foot fence all around, wondering if that will do? We dont have chicken in yet. looking for some adult hens.

I think the people without the fenced in runs accept that they will lose a chicken every now and again, but I don't want that happening.

Bare minimum, add netting over the top of that fence, hawks are everywhere, and they can and will attack full grown birds.

I'm gonna add onto my last post that if you're anywhere in the East PA area (this applies to the Middle and possibly the West as well, but to a lesser extent)... in the spring and fall the hawks migrate, and Mid/East PA is a 'bottleneck' of their migration- AKA they are in concentrated, high numbers looking for food.

Just keep that in mind!
