My peachicks have been thriving and I got them into their “to big for the brooder” rabbit hutch which will last for a little while on my screen porch. They seem really happy to see out to the outside world.

I have their preventatives for Cocci and a dewormer, and bluekote for injuries, and electrolytes but I see needing to extend this to having meds on hand if they sick. Because a sick bird can’t wait on the mail.

I would like to know if there is anything else I might add to my arsenal of “just in case”. The book I have recommends a whole slew of drugs, but I am thinking a first line antibiotic. There are several out there that can be gotten in powder form.

This is a great post by KSKingBee in a previous thread about this. Have a read of the whole thread as well.

A microscope is also a good idea. This is a great thread to read about doing your own fecal floats.
