Is there going to be a run? U should add plywood floor and frame in doors, and ventilation. (They need plenty.) what’s ur weather like/what’s ur location?

The run is 9' by 13' by 6' tall. First Coop we bought is plastic junk from chewy and the second one is very poor quality from tractor supply. There will be plywood floors and we are trying to settle on options for the chicken door, access door, and vents. I will eventually buy an automatic door so I don't want to design the door in a way that will not work well with that. Access door will be a bigger. Door for cleaning and getting into the coop. We're in North Eastern Pennsylvania. Cold winters and hold summers. This is what I was thinking for vent(s):

That’s good! You could add a vent up here just by putting hardware cloth there that’s what I see a lot of people do

Thank you so much I appreciate your advice. I'm so excited to see how the coop comes out! I have silkies hatching tonight and 6 out of 7 Serama/bantam chicks hatched already! Gonna be hard to sleep haha

Yes! I had a batch hatch 3 months ago and it was so hard not to go watch them and mess with them. It’s so hard not to take those little fluffy babies out before the rest hatch. I did have to assist 2 eggs though, and it was very nerve racking 😟. Good luck!

We had one hatch almost 3, days early so I had to pull him out of the hatcher. Swapped her with a piece of wet sponge to replace the humidity that escaped. Turns out she wasn't early! That egg was sitting under a broody hen and we took it off of her during the freezing weather we got. Popped in the Bator and forgot haha. Oops. She'll have her friends soon.

You're going to want more overhang on that roof to shelter your vents. :)

Plenty of ventilation at the top and bottom of the roof slope will prevent condensation on the underside of the metal roof in *most* climates.

How does this look? Hardware cloth framed in by 1x2 boards? I did a bit of a drawing to plan where I'd be putting the vents. I did not include the roof in it because it would be harder to draw facing forward haha.

Very nice.

You'll want the roosts to be situated above the nests but at least a foot below the vents to keep the birds draft-free when they're sleeping. :)

This is the interior of my small coop:
