Building my first coop/run

Looks great, love the guillotine! Just one question…are you planning to block the triangle area above the roof of the coop and the roof of the outer structure off with wire?

Otherwise, unless you have something like silkies, you are gonna end up with chickens roosting and pooping up there.

I was wondering about that. I could block it off pretty easily. I wanted to make it so you could slide a piece of plywood over the top of the coop area so when its cold it could be covered and when warm uncover it. It wouldn't really bother me if they want to hang out, up there. But I could pretty easily just put some chicken wire across to keep them out.

Instead of covering the top of the coop, you might want to cover the triangular window on the coop wall next to it.
Leaving the coop top for ventilation.

Looks great! I still don't see a diagonal brace on the door though.. ;)

Things left to do:

Paint Exterior.

Put some concrete across the back so water doesn't wash in there during a heavy rain.

Get some metal stakes and stake each corner down inside so in the event of a wind storm this thing don't end up in Oz.

Add some interesting stuff to the inside of the coop. I need to trim up my peach tree so they'll get some branches from that. I have some branches in my wood pile I can add. Just need to add some stuff to keep them busy.
