Building on uneven ground?

What do you recommend for building a henhouse/run on uneven ground? Should we bury the "baseboards" slightly to accomodate bumps? What if the ground slopes slightly?

How big a henhouse? If it's small, I'd build it up off the ground a foot to keep the rodents out then you can adjust the stilts that hold it up to make it even. The run, can be build on uneven ground, mine is, I just layed the board on top of it and buried the chicken wire or welded wire into the ground to fill holes and keep other critters out.

We built our coop on a slope. It is not a huge slope but it was an issue when we first started out on our coop design ideas.

The house part of the coop is elevated up on legs then the attached run we dug trenches and buried part of the base boards into the dirt. We then stapled the wire to the base boards and then screwed trim boards over the stapled part of the wire.

The only "critters" that I have so far digging at the baseboards are my hens..... they LOVE the loose dirt so I have spent a lot of time watering the dirt around the baseboards and I am also going to plant around the outside of the coop to also help in keeping the dirt in place and wild critters away.

I would use the stilt meathod, and just sink some further into the ground than others to level out the floor of the coop.
If you bury any of it use full green treat, or it will rot fast.

Or red cedar, or pour cement in sonotubes and stick those fittings in the top before it finishes setting so you can attach your posts.

Or, if you do NOT have the coop raised on 'stilts', or if you do but the run will also be affected ny the uneven ground, dig a wide shallow ditch around the whole thing, leading to lower ground, so that water is led elsewhere rather than making your coop/run a swimming pool.
