Building Our Coop - Follow Our Progress!

Okay, so there's this show called Wife Swap (never watch it). Maybe we can do a husband swap so I can get one of those fine looking coops. LOL. MY DH HATES home projects. He's good at them, he just hates them.

That looks awesome! You are going to have some really happy chickens once they see that set up! He's done a terrific job on the coop and run.

WOW that is looking amazing! Very jealous. I am sure you will love your chicks, If not, Feel free to send that coop my way

So we have the outside of the coop painted and I primed the inside today - not loving the whole painting thing but I think it is looking pretty sweet!

Hi Deb - Yes I ended up deciding that blending with the house will be better for us where we are so residential. Really did want a barnish looking color but I am happy with the results. The shutters and the doors DH built and I think they are pretty cute myself. The heart was a slate hanger that was hanging on our fence when we moved into the house 11 years ago - it was worn and DH was going to toss it in the trash and I refurbished it for the coop

Hopefully my girls will like the look when they arrive in a couple of weeks!

This is looking fantastic. Do you have any pics of the interior? Not sure where you are located, but wondered if you insulated. We are building our first coop in Michigan and have also used the steel roofing. Am concerned we may have condensation inside with metal roofing. I feel we will have more that adequate ventilation ( including ridge steel ridge cap) and we plan to insulate all walls, but wondering if we should insulate ceiling? Any thoughts?

Awesome coop.... i will hint to the boy friend that THIS is the coop i want!! maybe it will work...ahhh maybe not. looks like ill have to try on my own lol.

Love the design!!

Subscribing...cant wait to see the completely finished product!
