Id do the coop the shutter colors Beleive me they wont be too loud. Thats a nice farm red with a hint of blue in it to cool it down. Uless you camera doesnt capture color true. It wont show dirt especially helpful down low where dripping from the eves will splash a little and for the occasional chicken poo. The darker coop color will help with absorbing heat in the winter too. Id do the chicken ramps up to the house in a complimentary very dark brown that is from the same value as the body of the house (to hide ditry chicky foot prtints). Looks like the house is painted with a cool value grey or beige. Id use that as accent. And I would do the window trim in the white.

Oh and everything inside the coop that would get a chicken foot on it paint it that same brown as the ramp that includes the perches. A nice coat of Kils primer first the kind thats good for bathrooms. Then for what ever color inside do a semi gloss or gloss. Scrubbable.

Deb I am very tempted and torn with the colors - hubby leans towards the house color (it is named something sand - so its a pretty basic tan) the shutters look more raspberry than the cranberry I was hoping for. Think I might be painting very soon so I will surprise you with what I ultimately decide on (a part of the decision maybe in just how much paint I have on hand already

DH came home from work and went straight to the coop working on the final wall - think the auto door is a done deal at this point and I just need to order it

. Will post a pic later of our run side wall.

So tonight hubby completed the run side wall and also dressed the peak at the end of the run.

The run side will have another window and the pop door which is not framed out just yet but will be on the right side of the coop.

Speaking of free - look at the pile of used paint I found in the basement from when we repainted rooms in our house!! I think the only paint I will have to buy will be to match the color of our vinyl siding!!

DH is so smart we have 3 cans of blue and I said I will paint each wall a different shade and he said - ORRRR you could put it all in a 5 gallon bucket and blend it - hmmmmm would have never thought of that!!

Wow a lateral thinker and a perfectionist..... Good combination. Ooo I see you have kilZ too. Are you going to put down Linoleom on the floor or seal and paint.

There is another fellow on another thread that was getting ready to do Trukbed liner in his coop. He says it comes in a kit and will make a completely waterproof seal on wood as well. I dont know the cure time but I suspect once cured it will be inert.

Lovin this progress

Deb I have a great heavy duty can of gray paint that has the primer in it - thinking I will put down a nice thick coat or two of that on the floor and call it a day with the floor. Had thought about linoleum but can't see paying the extra $$ when it doesn't seem a necessity and a lot of people have mentioned how it can get gauged when you clean with a scraper, etc.... Thinking I can repaint in a few years if I want to after a good pressure wash if I feel the need - am I off base here?? Your thoughts?? The walls will end up being blue shades that have a blueish gray look to it I think when combined and I have a can of yellow I painted my pantry with so it would be "cheery". Soooo I think all the colors will compliment each other and are paid for!! I have several cans of Kilz that I will prime with even though the paint has primer in it I think it will make clean up and sealing that much better/easier. Can't wait to paint!!

Not off base at all....

Sorry I am hardwired to throw out ideas from as many points of view I can think of. ...

Can't wait to paint inside and finish the outside painting! Decided to go with the color of the house for the coop with my shutter color as the accent color. Really happy with how it is coming out and my auto chicken door should arrive in the next day or two for install
