Building Our Coop - Follow Our Progress!

Lovely, lovely coop and run. Nice job!!!!!
Thanks for posting photos and details. We have been working on our coop and will be building a run similar, albeit not as nice as yours. We have the trusses done and posts set but have been contemplating the roof. This is just what I had envisioned. Now I can show my dh your covered run.

Hope ours turns out half as nice as yours!

Thank you all for the kind words and suggestions! I love the poop hammock - interesting stuff right there! We were going to use a shelf underneath but I do sew so I may just look into this idea bit more before I commit to the shelf. I may rethink raising the other roost bar as well. Trying to figure out those logistics. I did paint the inside today and it came out soooo very nice. We had several cans of extra paint - all shades of blue - so I combined them all and it is a really pretty shade (not that it really matters in the big scheme of things). Will post pics of that later. Hubby also completed the stairs and the rocks are now all the way around. We are almost 100%. Glad the pictures might help someone else with their build. I found several that I liked and printed them to show hubby who then recreated the things I liked from several different coops. Such fun!!

The inside is painted now - loving the color - a combo of 4 different cans we had in the basement! Looks like a great color to hide chicken poop

That is one fantastic coop, well thought out and built. Your husband would take one look at mine and run for the hills.

Chickens are very additive and each year I love having the babies around.

P.S. you could probably rent your husband out to build coops and just retire and raise chickens
