building paradise for the birds

Have you thought of building roll out nest boxes? You can build them so they roll out the front.

I love the sand in the brooder idea.... My grandpa brooded in sand Hed brood up two hundred or so at a time. He was a share cropper. My next brooder if I am not doing it with a broody hen though will have a wire floor.... Guineas are hugely messy. food and water would go over the wire too... they are sloppy .

I love seeing the peering eyes of chickens in the rafters... In my case it would be Guinea Fowl. but the exercise that flying affords the hens is very good for their health.

Lovein the Journey....

When did you start raising these birds?
9 months ago....lol....raised chickens for a couple of years...but mostly the last 9 months...crazy huh...lol...alot of time and money that went in...and not even close to done....still a pond to do, ducks...more peafowl, more exotic pheasants....fish for the pond...sunfish and perch...located a breeder with good prices....it just all takes time

They look so happy! I can't wait to take my vacation in late June/early July for 2 weeks to come stay with my birds of paradise! Hopefully I will have a few additional chicks to add to the flock. We shall certainly see in a few weeks. Mom

I have been trying to raise these... They just don't seem to be thriving :/.

it is actually way easier then you think...i dont spend that much time on them now that they are all beatles...i need to buy another set of mealworms....thats for sure....how are you growing them....what are the temps...whats your feed and water source....these are some of the basics...and once you get these down...they will do there own thing...everyone has their own success and everyone does it slightly different...i can let you know what i do and what works for me....it prolly is pretty close to the same as what your doing....just small differences...so i shall wait for your response and go from there...
