I appreciate you sharing your experiences with the Honas. They're a breed on my wish list that I'd like to be able to get in the future, so it's nice to hear a 1st hand experience with/about them. Thank you.

Back when I was still driving otr they called me "day late".

Ya we were later than planned.

The new kids settled in very well.
They are in a temporary coup. Me and misfit finished the ribs for hoop coup number 2 right about dark tonight.
You must have handled the ring neck, they are the most docile I've ever had around(pheasant that is).

Two eggs already. I'll get some pictures soon.

If you have the chance to invest in the brinsea ecobrooder you should consider it. I have my hona's under it and they are very docile. I found that the red light is more calming than white. But, the chicks were up ALL night even with the red light. It messed with their sleep cycles. The brinsea...not so much. The eco20 is great for small group of chicks...they say 20...however, they ourgrow 20 very quickly. I have the 50 for a large chick batch which is very large. I am so satisfied with this product that I did buy 3. Two 20's and the 50.

I just received my GFF hona's and they are perfect. No gray and solid black feet. I am very pleased. All of my hona's are friendly and pretty cool birds. The eggs I hatched from KYT gave me some nice birds. A little pink on a couple toes and smidge of grey. But, the birds are so friendly and pleasant! Just lovely! But, man, they can fly!!!!!

Good luck with them!
