building paradise for the birds

Pics
well the day went good...kindof took the day off and planed out the incubator (large one in great detail)..I will post pics of the specks tommarow on that or maybe later today...
so I moved the silver golden to her new pen...
and I actually was able to dig in the existing 20 by 20 so that's great...got half of the bottom piece out of the four pens done and tommarow morning will be working on the other half and then building the walls and some wire and wammy another four pens done...should be a good day of work...have somethings to do during the middle of the day so about two hours will be eaten up by that otherwise all day im going to do this and try and complete pens 1 thru 4 done on the sketch and then I will let the peach goldens outside for the first time in pen 4...so im excited to see them in there new extension...heres some pics
notice the wood 2x6 in the ground...that's splitting it in half then tommarow I will install one going the other way...and the walls will be where the boards are in the ground

another pick of the pen...I might be removing that piece as well as everything in this pen...and then redesigning it with landscape

I built this cool little perch but I think tommarow im taking it down

well hope everyone likes the progress..and ill work on finishing up the drawing for the large incubator and the design so I can post yet tonight...so see you peeps in a bit

humidistat with a small unit inside...humidistat will turn on when to low and turn off when it gets to the right rh (relative humidity)

Please do post this project, I'm wanting to build a big cabinet as well and want it to do auto everything. I plan on putting it in a non climate controlled out building but spray foaming the interior of cabinet so temps will stay stable no matter what the outside temp is. I just need all the ideas /gadgets to make it work.

so here is what I came up with..completely rough draft...but very close to what Im going to build...I will finish a side view and post in a bit..order is being placed tommarow so I should begin on the project very soon....not sure the wattage of the bulb im going to use...this is a first time experiment and the next one I will build will be better...right now it is set up for auto temp, and auto humidity...havnt figured out how to auto turn yet...but im close..i have to do some tests and it will for sure be in the next unit...

this unit will hold 354 pheasant eggs and 120 chicken eggs....so its pretty big....any questions feel free and ask for this will only make me think and make me more prepared...more brains are better in this kinda situation...

what are you using to turn the eggs?

what are you using to turn the eggs?
well have not decided what I will use..i have the concept of the turner I just don't know if I have the time to make it...so If I build the unit I can always add the turner later...for now I think I will just put a piece of pvc under it.....and just push one end down when they need to be rotated...

Nice job that is a lot of work, as is caring for all those birds. Are you culling the pheasants as well at a year? do you sell to restraints ? That is a lot of meat
birds are very easy to care for...especially in the warmer months...you can auto...anything with the technology we have today...culling I wont do...restraints...? not sure what you mean by that

well I will be breeding these birds and marketing them for anyone that enjoys birds..they will be banded so I will be able to show you parents and be able to give you non related pairs..some females will be added to the existing pens...so I can have more eggs...I will go to swap meets...and a lot of the selling will be online...as for the males..im not to worried about selling them...they have many uses...when I get the peafowl coops done if I want to expand even more I will put quad pairs in these as well...as for the females...most people want more females then males when they buy so I can sell more females then most people would be able to.....I was raised to go big or go home...so big we go...(I know grandpa would be proud)
the side view of the incubator is almost done...was up till 430 am doing research and drawing...so im exhausted...but out to work I go...got 14 eggs....
