I'm sorry to hear that Tram,Update: she has passed on.
Next time I will use a syringe to test the lump first. She lost way too much blood.
Hopefully the other hen will respond to the Excede like the rooster did.
Has the vet given you a name for the illness that is affecting the flock? I agree, it would be a good idea to get some testing to find out what caused the lump on the hen that died and maybe gets some swabs from the one that is now sick, so you know what you are dealing with.
