Hello! We removed the bully probably 2 months ago. The frizzle feathered chicken is missing feathers down to the skin on both wings and much of the long wing feathers are just sticks. Same with the tail feathers.

It’s been 2 months and no signs of new growth. Is it because well too close to molting season? Am I supposed to do something to promote feather growth?

Used a saddle for a while but thought it was cleaner to go without because when it rains it gets wet.

They're a little over a year. Haven’t had their first molt yet!

Feathers will likely regrow when she molts. As far as supporting them during molt they make certain feeds formulated to help feather regrowth but you don't really need it. Regular food is ok but I've found a standard all flock feed with a little higher protein does quite well to encourage good feathers.

I have made some one piece hen saddles out of thin polar fleece which don’t require sewing. I took a 7x8 piece that would cover the back, and cut 2 2 inch slits for the wings which hold the saddle on. They can be trimmed down to size. There are some pictures online.
