haha no not that close by, definitely no roosters hopping six foot fences lol. We have two other Cockerels in other yard, but they were hatched same day as him. They are alot smaller and not trying to get busy yet.Does anybody around you have chickens? Is it possible you might have a sneaky neighbor rooster hopping the fence for a visit?![]()
My Jersey Giant cockerel started mating at 3 months. I hatched chicks from him recently when he was 5 months. He was mating with my hens, I have 2 of them. He's now mating with the pullets.I guess everything I've read online is wrong then about roos being fertile from 4 months. Maybe it's just because he's grown big quickly that he's getting the job done lol
