I know there is a pecking order!

I just put my 8 week old chickens with my 5 week!
bigger ones not letting them eat & can't get them in!
did I out them in too soon?

I also have like 6 more baby chicks coming is there something I can do to make the intoduction easier?

Do you have 2 feeders and 2 waterers? I read in a book that having two sources for food and water make it harder for a dominant bird to prevent others from feeding.

When introducing new birds to a flock, you'd probably want to have a little enclosure in the coop for the new birds, until everyone gets used to each other. This way, they can get to know each other but they will all be able to eat and drink, and no one will be hurt.

As for the new ones, personally, I'd wait until they're all close to the same size before putting them together.

I did have separate feeder & water (didn't help)

and I did have them in the same coop so they could see each other but, sectioned off

thinking familyofchicks was write I moved them everyone happy again!

just not sure were to put chicks that are coming!

Thanks for help!
