Bum Fluff Trim

Er, so I've never done it before, but I think I may need to. I have an araucana pullet who is 9 weeks old who is starting to get poo stuck to her bum fluff. Do I just wash/wipe off the mess and then trim the soiled fluff? How much should I trim?

I had to trim the butt fluff on my buff orps last year. It took a few times to get the right amount of fluff off them so they kept their butts clean. I would recommend cleaning them up then trimming off everything that is 'stuck'. Repeat as necessary until they keep their butts clean.
