Bumble Foot...sugar/iodine mixture

How did you use the cream? She has one on the other foot but its no where as bad. Its just a scab on the bottom of her foot. It is sore but she doesnt limp on it. This is my first experience with bumble foot and I dont like it at all...lol

The vet used a large tongue depressor or popsicle stick. I used a q-tip to cover most of the area. Worked really well, two sides to the q-tip, two feet on the chicken. One swap stick per bird. :)

This cream does it draw out the infection? Im guessing you clean the area and then rub the cream on and bandage the foot? How long did it take for you to notice a difference in the foot using this? How bad was the bumble? She has another bumble on her other foot but its not real bad yet. If I can understand how you used this I may try to treat her other foot with your method to see if it works for me. Do you have any pics you could post? That would be great!!!

This was the worst of my bumble foot cases. Poor thing had it in both feet, and the one was swollen all the way up to the webbing. I'll be honest, it was a long time before I saw results. I started treating feet around Memorial Day. I did the koi fish meds, salt water soaks and iodine treatments. It was a long road. In the middle of July I'd FINALLY had enough and called a vet. The cream was a life saver and now after three weeks on the cream treatment, it's almost totally gone. I'll see if I can get some "after" pics tomorrow.

Patient A, both feet. That one scab was the size of a pea or larger. I still get goosebumps looking at it.

Profile of the foot. See the swelling into the webbing of the foot. It was bad.

I'm learning something every day...Ruth I checked out your thread with the step by step procedures, incredible!!!! How do
they get bumblefoot?

It doesn't take much. A little cut or abrasion to the foot pad, then walking around on the ground and picking up all sorts of germs will cause it.
