My pekin duck has a black spot by its back claw.
She is not limping, or anything. Eating and drinking okay. I'm not sure if the others have it.. I didn't notice.

It was a little warm to the touch, but not bad.
It kind of looks like this.. But more black..and seems bigger.

Okay well soak her foot in some warm water with Epsom salt dissolved in it then post a pic of her foot please
I went and looked for Epsom salt, where they would Have it and its all out.. Are there other options?

Another question:: How do you know if they are in pain?

Go to Walgreens and soak it in Epsom salt and water, unscented. That does look like bumble foot, if it puffy and solid. After that, take medical white tape and put honey over the sore area and put a piece of gouze with tape taping it to the foot and a little around the leg. Change this every two days, and if it gets worse you may have to take a scalpel and cut off the scab, still applying the tape and honey. Do this after a week of it getting worse.

Hi. Would it be possible for you to soak your birds foot in warm water with Epsom salt in it OR if you don’t have Epsom salt you can use regular salt and a little bit of dish soap. After about 10 minutes , scrub the bird’s foot well.

Once it’s clean, it would be helpful to see a good clear picture of your actual bird’s foot.

Note: I would NOT recommend using white medical tape on a bird’s foot or leg.
It’s far too unforgiving and could cause circulatory impediment or be way too hard to remove.
Self adhesive vet wrap or sports wrap like this is super easy to work with are readily available.

You can customize it to a skinnier width easily with scissors.

( epsom salt is beneficial because it is magnesium sulfate which is good for wounds and swelling. It comes from the pharmacy or bath soap section of the grocery store OR the pharmacy or gardening section of a store like Walmart)

Hope some of this helps.
