Bumble foot

Sorry for awkward angle. It’s hard to hold and take picture. So you think she will be ok through the night? She is in a big see through bin next to the othwrducks. She is not happy lol. But the bedding is clean. She has water with some nutridrench and vitamins and electrolytes. I just feel bad because when I pick her up she feels so warm. But maybe that’s because she’s laying down so much. I never knew having ducks was so much work.

Whatever you do, don’t cut it off!!
First the foot should be soaked in warm water and epsom salts to soften the skin. Really let it soak for awhile to let the scab soften. Then the scab needs to be pulled off with sharp tweezers, or scraped off with a sharp scalpel and a circle cut around the scab with the scalpel.

Then gently squeeze the foot pad to help remove the hard kernel and all the white stringy stuff,
that's the actual infection.

Once you have removed the hard kernel and the whitey stringy stuff, generously spray the bottom of the foot with theracyn.

After that place the duck in a warm cozy place away from the other ducks for the night.
