Bumble foot. :(

I don’t see how it could hurt soak in ES then dip into ACV let dry then on the the other. I use a gal bucket and stick both legs in it’s easier to hold them still with both legs inside.

We just woke up to a case of bumblefoot today on our girl Goose. :-(

Starting Epsom salt baths today.

Oh no! I’m so glad you are catching it early. We thought my duck was getting calluses.. but as time went on I noticed the black scabs started. ;( They came on really fast. I hope since you caught it early it’s easy to take care of. Keep me posted on her.

Yeah it looks like soaking is helping a lot! I’m soaking her in Epsom salt in a large bowl with warm water. She hates it and won’t hold still. Is there an easier way to do this? I see people put their duck is Home Depot buckets. (Guessing they are much smaller than my 7.5 LB Pekin.) lol
I tried to do a smaller bowl but she tries to drink the Epsom water. I was told not to let them do that.
Also thoughts on Apple cider vinegar? I have put it in their drinking water before but never used it for bumble foot.
I’ll post more pictures in a little bit!

Current mood! A little meal worm treat this morning with friends. Lol looks like River (my mallard) wanted to be in the picture.
She loves to sit in the dog water bowl.

Unfortunately, ours seems pretty advanced already, which is weird because we spend a fair bit of time with our ducks daily, and neither of us have noticed anything. She is also not limping or showing any signs of discomfort or abnormal behavior, but I noticed it when I was taking a picture of her this morning.

Yep that needs to be dealt with. I still think soaking until you can pull the scab off easily is the best way to deal with it. My only duck bumble never had a scab so I had to use a scalpel to get it out.

I can't believe we just noticed it. Rrrrrr. I sent our vet a note, so she is ready if we need to go that route, but we are starting soaks. We've actually never gotten to the point with bumble where we had to pull a scab off, so this will be new territory for us.
