Bumble Scab

I was trying to cool the girls off with some water. I put my 13 month old BO's feet in some cool water and noticed a small scab. No swelling, but it was firm around the scab. It was a small one. Anywho, I followed all the bumble treating directions.... soak, remove scab, neosporin, wrap. My issue is there wasn't any core to speak of. Did I just catch it early? There was a tiny thread of sorts attached to the scab, but that was it. Any advice?

I couldn't find very many pictures of bumble foot cores... but they say it looks... cheesy. Maybe you caught it early or maybe it was something else stuck on (they sometimes get poo stuck to their feet and it can look like scabs or other things)? Maybe it was just a little infected wound?
