I'm sure this is on the forums somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it and I've got a chicken needing some help. I've been working on this girl's foot over the last week. She had a tiny scab, but there was a huge blob of pus under it. Today, I was able to pull the whole thing out. It was huge. About 1/4 inch square with a tail that was sticking straight down. I've been able to squeeze more out. I've never had one even remotely this bad. I'm embarrassed it's gone this far.
My question is, how do I bandage this gaping hole in her foot? It's not bleeding much, but it goes almost through to the top of her foot. I don't want it to heal up leaving some infection that will start the process over. Any help?
Thanks!
