Found out that my favorite hen has bumblefoot :/ We followed the chicken chick’s advice but did not find a kernel? We basically debrided each foot of the bad tissue as much as we could. We stopped the debridement process once we got to what appeared to be soft pink/healthy tissue. Day 2 looks like this (about 20 hours later).

This foot looks like it could have used more debridement so I removed more tissue today.

This next picture the foot looks okay I think?…is the yellow stuff granulation tissue? A new scab forming? I changed the dressing and left this one alone. Again no kernels found on either of these which makes me worry that I didn’t completely remove the source of the infection. Although I know not all bumblefoot infections will have a kernel depending on how progressed it is :/

We’ll be changing the dressing every 24-48 hours. Unfortunately I don’t have any before pictures. Any advice would be much appreciated this is our first time doing this :/

That looks pretty good to me. It does take a while to heal, but it looks like you caught it pretty early.

The yellow stiff *might* be pus. I can't tell from the pic, so you'll have to use your best judgment there. If it is pus, you might want to try any remove as much as you can.

You're doing great! Keep up the care. Make sure you clean it out and apply antibiotic ointment before each wrapping. She'll be ship shape again soon!
