Found out that my favorite hen has bumblefoot :/ We followed the chicken chick’s advice but did not find a kernel? We basically debrided each foot of the bad tissue as much as we could. We stopped the debridement process once we got to what appeared to be soft pink/healthy tissue. Day 2 looks like this (about 20 hours later).
This foot looks like it could have used more debridement so I removed more tissue today.
This next picture the foot looks okay I think?…is the yellow stuff granulation tissue? A new scab forming? I changed the dressing and left this one alone. Again no kernels found on either of these which makes me worry that I didn’t completely remove the source of the infection. Although I know not all bumblefoot infections will have a kernel depending on how progressed it is :/
We’ll be changing the dressing every 24-48 hours. Unfortunately I don’t have any before pictures. Any advice would be much appreciated this is our first time doing this :/
