Meanwhile, Hilda's having trouble with her hair style in the afternoon sea breeze. She has a very subtle scattering of gold across her shoulders.

I was recently given a photo of the original Hilda, known to everyone as Aunty Hilda. Look at that smile!

Looks like Hattie may have made that decision herself. I have to figure out how to help her manage sleeping on her own.

Adding an extra coop might help?
I have 3 small coops (a small prefab, an extension to it with roosts and a poop board I build myself. And a converted childrens playhouse I bought because I had trouble to integrate chicks several times when they were ready to roost with the flock. The hens were mean to the older chicks/young pullets at roost time. With 3 coops my 8 chickens can choose the best option. (More reading in my own thread - link in signature)

I raked out the chicken run yesterday and ran over it with the big magnet. I even moved the little coop so I could rake under it. This morning the chickens are enjoying the change to their environment with lots of scratching and running.
