Bumblefoot drawing salve or Potato?

I live in Germany where I can not get PRID drawing salve. I am sure there is something but i have not found it yet.

I soaked the hen's foot and the opened the scab with a razor and dug out as much as I could. The hole is very deep and I never got to pus or blood. I then filled the hole with Neosporin (that my parents sent me via post) and smeared her leg with it and bandaged it up.

My last hen was easier to treat I soaked it then picked the scab with a razor and tweezers and removed the complete infection in one chunk. I wonder if a potato would work to remove the wound next time? I have used a whole potato before on people for splinters, cysts and thorns.

Hi thanks for asking. I got 2 different types of drawing salve. The US brand and a European version. I didn't try the potato.
The biggest problem is the depth of the hole in her foot. It is directly in the middle of her foot. I dug out most of the bad stuff then packed it with the salve for 4 days (changing the bandage and the salve every day after washing it out with warm soapy water and disinfecting spray) and gave her Antibiotics as well. The bumblefoot is still there. It's been such a long process. I am going to look at her foot again this weekend. I have to DeWorm all the hens and check her out.
