I recently got ducks for the first time, and they are about 3-4months old now. I just found that both my ducks, Delilah and Dixy, have severe bumblefoot. I instantly started giving them antibiotics, it's been 4 days now. And the day after I noticed their bumblefoot, Delilah stoped walking, she had trouble balancing and then just stoped even trying. So I did my research and saw that many people try and cure it without surgery. First I soaked their feet in a warm epsom salts bath and then started picking away at the black scabs with tweezers. It was much harder than all the videos I watched, but my ducks case is more severe so it's to be expected I guess. They started eeding a lot when I was picking the scabs off so I stoped after a while and didn't get the whole scab off of three out of four feet. The fourth foot in Delilah I got all of the scab because it didn't seem to hurt her as much as the other foot. Then after two days, I kept looking and she's not wanting to move at all and was drinking lots but her appetite was shrinking. I had to throw it in water and hand feed her but she only ate a little. Dixy is still eating and walking fine. I attempted an at-home surgery on dixy since she is doing well, because I didn't want to hurt Delilah any more, still can't even walk. After hours of attempting, no matter how hard I tried, I could not find the "corn" or the center seed of the infection and couldn't get any puss out. I don't know what I did wrong. I was thinking it could be possible that since it's a very severe looking case to me that scar tissues could have built up? I felt like I was cutting into cartelage not a giant puss pocket/bumblefoot?! Anywho, I've been spraying each ducks feet with vetericyn after soaking in warm Epsom salts, and Dixy dint seem to be fazed by her attempted surgery, still walking talking and eating. Delilah is still my walking, and her appetite has decreased to almost none and barely wants to drink. She pushes herself around with her head and wings and pushes a little with her feet. I've been letting her swim often so that she continues to get circulation to her feet and doesn't loose all muscle. She only seems herself when she's in the pool. Also just yesterday morning when I gave her antibiotics, I noticed she started gurgling?! The antibiotic went dow the wrong pipe? She's been gurgling ever since and sounds terrible. I don't know what to do. I hate to see Delilah depressed and suffer like this. Does anyone have any ideas of how to help them both?!

If she aspirated her antibiotics then you need to get her to a vet.
While there have them look at her feet the infection maybe in other areas like muscle and bone if as bad as you say.

Pick up some clear iodine to use after you soak their feet in the ES solution and keep them on as clean of bedding as you can till healed.

One of my hens had bumble foot I gently used my finger nail and pulled off the scab all that was there was a hole so not every bumble has the pus plug especially if you use clear iodine and ES

The purpose of soaking and using the clear iodine is after a few days you can usually pull off the scab with out injuring good healthy skin and the bumble is ready to come out if there is one.
