I just got 12 adult Barred Rock hens from a friend who is moving.
One of the hens has a foot with a big swelling on the side of her toe.
In looking at it more closely, it seems to have the "plug" classic for bumblefoot.
Her toe is grossly crooked to the side with a big swelling off to the one side.
I don't know if the crooked toe came first or if the bumblefoot made it crooked = ?? =
So - what I need to know is -
do you think it is a callous from her weight on the crooked toe
OR do you think i should go ahead and try to remove the "plug"
How will it recover with her weight on it?
