bumblefoot on ducks feet what dosage???

My pekin has scabbed over sores on the fatty pads on the bottom of his feet. He doesn't limp while walking but does seem to hold a foot off of the ground while standing and sits more than usual. What could have caused this and how should I treat it?

It could be bumblefoot. I will move this to the mergencies forum and you can do a search there on bumblefoot.

I have determined that my Pekin duck has bumblefoot (thanks to the help of terrielacey

) I am on my way to the IFA to pick up the antibiotic for him.

I have powdered terimycin on hand. Would that work or do I need to get something else???

What dosage should I administer???

How do I prevent this. He is on grass or swimming in a pond all day. He may step on rock only once in a while.

How do I bandage his foot??? he will just muck it up and get it wet...can I use liquid bandaid??? My DH uses this on his hands and it works decently.
