Bumblefoot on TOP of foot...Prids?

My chicken currently has bumble foot. But my vet said don't cut it or lance it bc it won't ever heal so he gave me some medicine instead to put in there water for seven days

thats what I thought too because thats what I originally thought. But maybe it can be caused by both. Maybe its just not as common to get it the way my vet said my chicken got it.

According to what I read up what you did was right but what my vet did seems to be healing it. Where I live, during the summer most of the time its really wet so my vet said since its most of the time wet cutting it open to get it out will make all the bacteria from the wet ground into it.

Curious...what did you put in the water? I have to admit that cutting and blood have never been my "thing"...although my hen is almost walking normally today. And the bumblefoot surgery I did last year healed well and looks great....

I don't actually remember but the foot is improving every day. I didn't save the thing that said what medicine it was
