I took my Orpington Rooster to the vet and told him that he had Bumblefoot as the first time I drought him to him he didn't know what it was..... it was very advanced and the wart like lump under his foot was very large. The vet watched the operation on You tube and than proceeded to remove the growth for my roosters foot. I my opinion he removed FAR too much. He cut off the whole bottom of the center pad. I asked him how on earth will it heal as there is now no skin on the bottom of his foot. he told me that it will reform a scar tissue but it will take time. I am so worried ,the operation was 3 days ago and today i changed the dressing under the vets instructions. It looks dark red and fleshy and it bleed at the sides ,I washed it in salt water and then put on betadine and an antibiotic/ anti scar cream and dressed it again. He gets up every now and again to eat a little and drink but spends most of his time laying down. Can someone please tell me if the foot will heal.... is it possible that the scar tissue will reform ?? I feel so angery that the vet cut off so much .Thank you
