This morning, he is putting weight on it again. He managed to get the bandage off, which I kinda figured he would do overnight. Splinting his foot is going to be next to impossible! But it's not bleeding, so I'm okay with it.
He doesn't hold it up as much as he used to. That's a good sign. It is covered with dried blood, so it APPEARS to be black, rotting, and about to fall off, but it's not. Underneath the blood it is still pink, fleshy, and very much alive.
But the best news is that he started crowing this morning after my nieces and nephews left for school! So I was able to move his pillow (that he stands/sleeps on) and his food and water into my nephews bedroom, and shut the door until I was ready to wake up! LOL!
By the time I went back in to get him, he was off of his pillow and the dresser it sat on, and across the room standing on my nephew's bed. But he had also spilled food everywhere out of the stemmed glass dish, telling me he ate. And his water was much lower, so he has been drinking fine as well. I'll try and get a pic of the foot later today. But I don't want to clean it with anything except the iodine solution right now, so it may LOOK really weird.
